#86255 Mazda 323 4x4 turbo 16v

Posted benh999 on 19 January 2012 - 08:23 PM

Hi folks, names ben and I own a 1989 Mazda 323 4x4 16v turbo twx.  3 owners from new with a genuine 69k miles. Completely standard an in very good condition. Plan is to overhaul paintwork and fit new graphics to her, engine will be pulled, overhauled and refitted and will be putting out a cheeky 200bhp. Love the car, love how
Rare it is and love the look on people's face when it shows them its rear end......

Pics to follow

Ben

#86821 Mad Maestro Specs.

Posted ricky on 09 August 2012 - 09:16 PM

not been on for a while, the maestro has been ok but blew the head gasket recently, between 2&3 cyls, slight water leakage as well, it had some running issues slight misfire and hesitantsy and other times it would almost be sweet... so in for a penny and all that i have rebuilt the turbo (again) new head gasket, new manifold gasket, new exhaust manifold (still std but no cracks) new cam belt, its all running again but waiting for me to test drive it, it sounds loads better than it did, the idle sounds like its on four cylinders, smooth, responsive and above all quiet and no smoke... all ready for some more shows and spirited driving.... regards ricky

I'd be far happier if they would just re-introduce the rolling tax exemption!

I always regarded these cars as the follow on from the Alfa Romeo Alfasud as a pure drivers car.

#86687 Blog and forum united at last!

Posted Christian Skelton on 12 May 2012 - 10:25 PM

I've been busy spannering away with Dep-O over the past 24hrs and I've managed to better bridge the blog and forum. With any luck everybody should be able to post comments on the blog using their forum account without having to log back in. I've also setup P***tonheads style automated forum topics so you'll start seeing new content springing up every time somebody comments on a blog/forum post (it should work both ways).

Just like all new-fangled tech there's gonna be a few teething problems - if you spot anything odd just drop me a line to: christian@skeltonmedia.co.uk

Cheers

Christian

#86656 I Wouldn't Touch That With...

Posted BrettMRC on 01 May 2012 - 10:43 AM

My 2nd twin turbo Soarer... it didn't even get me home... I tried to convince myself it wasn't the head gasket, it was just the radiator... brought a new one etc etc.

Eventually got it back to the workshop and discovered that the whole thing had been toasted by the previous owner... the loom crumbled at the lightest touch and the head was banana shaped.  *sob*

Sold it to a breaker for £400 in the end...

Would I have another?  In a second... just don't ever touch one without an extended test drive. (Which I did the first time round, but not with this one)

Hi Simon and Brett,

We just drove straight in! Perhaps being in a convoy helped :)

Here is the Landy enjoying the Jura national park.

Porsche also did a colour called Carmen Rot (Dont know the correct spelling for carmen) Which was bright Pink.

Sounds more like a dodgy French drag act!

So are you saying it's a blue box with a top that opens, They did make the TR7 in brown with tan interior after all :D  You know i'm just kidding..  Your right though.

Worse still - Ottoman blue is NOT a triumph colour - Its French! :D

How are you going to give this place a shot in the arm?

With lots of work! We've got to build up an audience again.

To start off we'll be pushing build diaries, shed ‘communities’ (sorry Simon, I know how you hate the ‘c’ word) and all the good other stuff that tempts people in. Simon and Gez already have the Dep-O shed - full of your finest BL-tin - so they'll be documenting their every move, and in the meantime we'll be kicking off some properly organised cafe meets.
