This book follows the life of BSA’s two-wheeled working class hero, the Bantam – a small, simple commuter motorcycle which thousands of people learnt to ride on. It became the standard GPO ‘telegram bike’ in the Fifties and was a huge success with 100,000 coming off the production lines in just the first four years.

The Bible follows all the changes and the evolutions, year by year and ends with the bikes sad demise in 1971 as an old, under-developed design which was thoroughly beaten by newer Japanese four-stroke designs.

Written by Peter Henshaw, a former editor of ‘Motorcycle Sport & Leisure’ magazine, the Bible also includes a Bantam buying guide and some useful appendices on specifications, engine and frame numbers and Bantam club/specialist contact details.
